The Bongo District Director of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Mohammed Seidu Akugri, has reportedly been murdered in cold blood by unknown assailants at Nangodi, a community near Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
The horrific murder was announced through a statement released on May 20, 2025, by the Member of for Bawku Central and Majority Leader in , .
Ayariga, in the statement, condemned the gruesome murder of the NHIA district director, while extending his condolences to the family of the deceased.
Further details on the murder revealed that the deceased, Mohammed Seidu Akugri was shot and his body burnt afterwards. "I hereby condemn, in no uncertain terms, the shooting, killing and burning of the body of Mohammed Seidu Akugri, who was the Bongo District Director of the National Health Insurance Authority.
