Insurance companies have been urged to make use of Artificial Intelligence to deliver exceptional services and make their work more efficient.The President of the Ghana In­surers Association GIA, Mr Seth Kobla Aklasi, who made the call during the GIA's third edition of its annual International Educa­tional Seminar in Accra at the weekend said, "AI-enabled tools can process claims in real time."The programme which was under the theme "Innovating Together - Building a Resilient Insurance Future" brought to­gether insurers and reinsurer and marketing, corporate commu­nications, economics, corporate management, and information technology experts, to discuss measures to promote the indus­try and the development of the country.Sponsored by WAICA Re, the programme helped build the ca­pacity of the participating insur­ance practitioners and provided opportunity for networking.Mr Aklasi said AI could be used to assess accidents in real time and credit accounts instantly.The President of GIA urged the insurance companies to continue to innovate to meet the changing taste and needs of insurance consumers as well as global trends and also keep with international best practices.The Acting Deputy Commis­sioner of Insurance, Mr Bernard Ohemeng-Baah, pledged the commitment of the National Insurance Commission (NIC) to support the industry players.According to him, NIC would provide the enabling environment and collaborate with players in the insurance industry for it to thrive.Mr Ohemeng-Baah entreated the insurance companies to inno­vate and come out with insurance solutions to meet the needs of customers BY KINGSLEY ASARE
