A coalition of Ghanaian scholarship beneficiaries studying abroad has announced a coordinated day of protest on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in response to what they describe as the government's prolonged neglect of their financial welfare.

The Coalition of Ghanaian Scholars Abroad (CGSA), comprising students in countries including Russia, Algeria, Cuba, Hungary, the UK, Morocco, and others, says the demonstration will be staged at various Ghanaian embassies around the world.

According to the group, the peaceful action aims to press home their demand for the immediate payment of 14 months' worth of unpaid stipends and two academic years' worth of book and health allowances. "Enough is enough," the students declared in a flyer announcing the protest. "Pay all arrears to us.

We are suffering." In a joint statement issued by CGSA representatives across Europe, North America, and Asia, the scholars accused the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat and the Ghanaian government of abandoning their contractual responsibility to provide financial support for their studies.
