The management of Lakeside Estate has refuted reports that the entire estate was flooded following the heavy downpour on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
In a statement sighted by , the management clarified that only a section of the estate, specifically near the bridge connecting Community 5 to Community 6, was affected by flooding.
They explained that the stream near the bridge overflowed its banks, resulting in flooding in areas along the Madina Institute of Technology. "The attention of the management of Lakeside Estate has been drawn to a news item carried out by Citi FM to the effect that Lakeside Estate was flooded during the last rains that hit Accra and its environs on Sunday 18th of May 2025, which caused flooding in most parts of Accra.
The said news item sought to give the general public an impression that the entire or a greater part of the estate got flooded, which actually was not the case.
