The Member of for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has criticised the ruling government for its 'silence' on the flooding in parts of Accra, which has caused extensive damage to properties.
According to him, he believes the government should have issued a communique in response to reports of the floods, addressing the issue and expressing condolences to those affected and displaced by the disaster.
Assafuah, also a legal practitioner, added that the government's inability to address the matter does not bode well, as it fails to demonstrate leadership.
He argued that good leadership requires more than just action but also demands communication and empathy in times of crisis. "Yesterday's downpour has left parts of Accra, especially East Legon Hills, Lakeside, and Pantang in distress.
