Ghanaian music duo Lali X Lola are demanding accountability from streaming giant Boomplay after going over a year without receiving royalties.
In a formal petition to Minister of Communications and Digital Technology, Samuel Nartey George, the artists expressed frustration over the lack of transparency regarding their earnings on the platform since April 2023.

"Lali x Lola -have not received any reliable accounting nor revenue from Boomplay for the streaming of our content." they wrote, stressing the emotional and financial toll on creatives when digital platforms fail to meet obligations.Beyond their personal case, Lali X Lola are urging the government to step in and establish proper oversight for digital service providers operating in Ghana.
Their call to action has already sparked reactions across social media, with other musicians voicing similar concerns in solidarity.
