Correspondence from Ashanti Region A majority of assembly members in the Atwima Mponnua district of the Ashanti region are calling on President Mahama to urgently nominate Sakina Oforiwaa as the District Chief Executive (DCE), arguing that her selection would ensure a quick and easy endorsement and expedite development in the region.
Over 35 assembly members voiced their support during a press conference, emphasising Oforiwaa's competence, work ethic, unifying qualities, and widespread popularity within the district.
Salifu David, Assembly Member for the Anansu Electoral area, speaking on behalf of the group, stated that while they respect the President's decision-making process, they believe Oforiwaa, a member of the Ashanti Regional Communications team of the NDC, is the clear choice of the majority.
He described her as "very active and a unifier irrespective of people's political affiliations." "We've known her to be a unifier and someone who respects and shows concern for people for a long time.
