The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has issued a public alert against the consumption of two alcoholic beverages-Kings Orange Flavoured Liqueur and Jupiter 1990-after laboratory analysis revealed the presence of marijuana extracts in the drinks.
In a statement released on Sunday, May 18, the Authority said the products are not registered and pose serious health risks.
The FDA traced the production of both drinks to FAMUDE Catering Services, an unlicensed facility located in the Ashanti Region.
Following the discovery, the FDA swiftly moved to shut down the FAMUDE facility.
