A man believed to be the mastermind behind a series of violent robberies in several upscale neighborhoods in Accra has been extradited from Togo to face criminal charges in Ghana.

Adinda Abdu Mujibu, also known as Adinda Akpo Abdo, was handed over to Ghanaian authorities in Lomé on May 14, 2025.

The extradition followed months of cooperation between the police services of Ghana and Togo, facilitated under the 2003 West African Police Chiefs Committee agreement, with the support of Interpol.

A five-member Ghanaian team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Lydia Yaako Donkor, who serves as Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department, flew to the Togolese capital aboard a military aircraft to complete the transfer.
