Kenneth Ashigbey, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, says the Chamber is collaborating with the Attorney General's Department to secure prosecutorial powers-through a fiat-to take legal action against individuals and construction firms responsible for damaging fibre optic cables nationwide.

The move comes amid a surge in cases of fibre damage, which the Chamber says is costing the telecom industry millions of cedis in repairs, lost revenue, and service disruptions for consumers.
