The Acting Managing Director (MD) of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Mr Kwame Kpekpena, on Wednesday engaged with the leadership of the Public Utility Workers' Union (PUWU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) Ghana at Tema to outline his strategic vision for the company.It formed part of the Acting MD's move to strengthen relations between management and staff.Addressing the National Executive Council (NEC) of the (PUWU) on Wednesday at Tema, Mr Kpekpena thanked the Workers' Union for accepting his nomination as the new Acting MD of ECG and welcoming him back to the company.He underscored the urgent need for transparency, accountability, and financial discipline, stating emphatically; "You can't build trust when there's no transparency."The Acting ECG boss pledged to work closely with staff to significantly reduce losses and improve revenue.He revealed the establishment of four specialised teams, namely: Commercial, Financial, Network Operations, and Technology teams to monitor and evaluate the business of the company to boost revenue and enhance service delivery.In an earlier development, Mr Kpekpena and the General Secretary of PUWU, Mr Timothy Nyame, signed the Collective Agreement, signalling a renewed commitment to workers' welfare and the company's growth.The Union leadership welcomed the Acting MD's vision and pledged their support while urging him to prioritise staff welfare as part of ECG's restructuring efforts.
