The Acting Manag­ing Director (MD) of the Electric­ity Company of Ghana (ECG), Mr Kwame Kpekpena, on Wednesday engaged with the leadership of the Public Utility Workers' Union (PUWU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) Ghana at Tema to outline his stra­tegic vision for the company.It formed part of the Acting MD's move to strengthen relations between management and staff.Addressing the National Execu­tive Council (NEC) of the (PUWU) on Wednesday at Tema, Mr Kpekpe­na thanked the Workers' Union for accepting his nomination as the new Acting MD of ECG and welcoming him back to the company.He underscored the urgent need for transparency, accountability, and financial discipline, stating emphat­ically; "You can't build trust when there's no transparency."The Acting ECG boss pledged to work closely with staff to signifi­cantly reduce losses and improve revenue.He revealed the establishment of four specialised teams, namely: Commercial, Financial, Network Operations, and Technology teams to monitor and evaluate the business of the company to boost revenue and enhance service delivery.In an earlier development, Mr Kpekpena and the General Secre­tary of PUWU, Mr Timothy Nyame, signed the Collective Agreement, signalling a renewed commitment to workers' welfare and the company's growth.The Union leadership welcomed the Acting MD's vision and pledged their support while urging him to prioritise staff welfare as part of ECG's restructuring efforts. BY TIMES REPORTER
