The Acting Chief Justice of Ghana, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has issued a warning to the Enchi District Court Judge, Lawrence Buenor Buer, following a petition by Sulemana Issifu, Director of the Research Centre for Climate Change and Food Security.
The petition, dated April 6, 2025, demanded Buer's removal for alleged incompetence in handling a case involving illegal miners (galamseyers) and excavators.
In a letter dated May 13, 2025, signed by Dr Cyriacus Badinye Bapuuroh, Acting Judicial Secretary, the Office of the Judicial Secretary confirmed that the petition had been received and the issues raised were duly appreciated.
The letter stated that Judge Buer has been warned to exercise circumspection in his judicial decisions.
