Chairman of the Food and Beverages Association of Ghana (FABAG), John Awuni, has blamed corruption and burdensome regulatory fees for the high cost of goods in the country.

Awuni said corruption significantly influences pricing in Ghana, as businesses are often forced to pass illicit costs onto consumers. "What also informs pricing in this country is corruption.
