The Ministry of Foreign Affairs last on Friday, started with the free home and office delivery of the newly chip-embedded passport to their owners. This follows an initiative undertaken by the ministry to ensure that passport applicants receive their chip-embedded passport at their convenience and the comfort of their homes and offices within 15 days of application. It is also to prevent queues from forming at the various passport offices as well as eliminate the service of middlemen. The free home and office delivery of the chip-embedded passport was carried out in collaboration with the Ghana Post and Troski, a local courier firm.During the exercise, the minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ablakwa personally delivered the chip-embedded passport to three passport applicants within the Greater Accra Region.Speaking to journalists, Mr Ablakwa said his decision to join the delivery team was to assess the service being offered by the courier firm in the delivery of the chip-embedded passport.According to him, the free home and office delivery of the chip-embedded passport was a testament to the commitment of the government to ensure that passport applicants acquired their passports without having to go through any form of hustle. He commanded Ghana Post for the high level of professionalism it had shown during the free delivery process."I want to commend Ghana Post.
