Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has sent a note of caution to Ghanaians to desist from mining in water bodies and forest reserves.
He says the Ghana Armed Forces are in full force and will deal with any individual or group that defies the government's effort to ensure that the water bodies and forests are kept safe.
In a post shared via social media, he reminded Ghanaians of the commitment of the Armed Forces to defend the country. "Let me add, do not get back to the forest reserves and water bodies for galamsey, a word to the wise is enough!
Let us get Ghana there,"he said in a post shared via social media.
