Three people have been confirmed dead and two others seriously injured following a fatal road accident involving three trucks at Akyem Asafo in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The crash occurred in the early hours of Monday, May 12, along the Accra-Kumasi highway-a major route known for its heavy traffic and high-speed travel.
Eyewitnesses say the accident happened when a Scania truck with registration number GS 6429-11 collided with a stationary DAF trailer loaded with cocoa beans, which had broken down in the middle of the road.
A Howo tipper truck with an unconfirmed registration number also became involved in the crash.
