A tragic road accident in the early hours of Monday morning has claimed the lives of three people and left two others injured at Akyem Asafo, along the busy Kumasi to Accra highway.
According to eyewitnesses, the crash involved three heavy-duty vehicles.
A DAF trailer transporting cocoa, bearing registration number 6294-11, broke down and was left stationary in the middle of the road.
While en route to Accra, two other trucks, a Scania with registration number GS 6429-11 and a Howo tipper truck (registration yet to be confirmed), crashed into the immobile trailer.
