The People's National Party (PNP) has extended Mother's Day greetings to Ghanaian mothers while renewing calls for the government to implement the long-awaited Affirmative Action Law and operationalise the Women's Bank initiative.

In a statement issued on Sunday, May 11, 2025, to mark Mother's Day, PNP Chairperson and Leader, Janet Asana Nabla, expressed gratitude to Ghanaian mothers for their sacrifices and contributions to national development.

She emphasised the need for the state to formally recognise and support the role of mothers in society.

According to Nabla, an estimated 24% of households in Ghana are headed by women, and married women contribute nearly 80% to child upkeep and household needs highlighting the central role women play in family and economic life.
