Deputy Agric Minister, John Dumelo, has indicated that his appointment was as a result of his competence and nothing else.
He says the President is aware of his hands-on experience in the sector, hence the decision to appoint him to Deputize Eric Opoku.
John Dumelo believes that pairing Hon Eric Opoku will be a game changer for the Agriculture sector. "President Mahama was confident with my hands-on experience; appointing a deputy to support Eric Opoku will yield positive results," he said.
Further indicating that the president ensured that every Minister whom he appoints has experience in the sector he is appointed to in order to avoid having square pegs in round holes. "When you examine the ministers appointed by President Mahama, you will discover that each and every one of us have backgrounds in fields that are in line with our respective ministries.
