The KNUST branch of the Tertiary Education Workers Union (TEWU-GH) has accused the Trades Union Congress (TUC) of bias in favour of its rival union, TEWU-TUC, in an ongoing dispute over representation on public university governing councils.

TEWU-GH recently went on strike after a TEWU-TUC representative was sworn in to serve on the KNUST governing council-a move they opposed.

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has since directed that all TEWU representatives be suspended from university councils until the matter is resolved.

Despite the TUC labelling the strike illegal, TEWU-GH insists it was justified.
