The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, , has assured the public that President will not seek a third term as president, despite widespread allegations and speculations from the (NPP).

Addressing the claims in an interview on UTV on Friday, May 9, 2025, Kwakye Ofosu dismissed the NPP's allegations, describing them as ridiculous and baseless.

He further explained that the process of amending the constitution to allow for a third term is complex and cumbersome, as it requires a referendum in which two-thirds of Ghanaians must vote in favor of the amendment.

To him, such processes make it impossible for President Mahama to pursue such a course.
