Deputy Director of Elections and IT of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr.
Rashid Tanko-Computer, has intensified pressure on former National Signals Bureau (NSB) boss, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, urging him to consider a plea bargain as he could be facing a lengthy jail term over what the NDC calls a "fabricated and politically charged" memo.
Speaking to Joy News on Friday, May 9, Tanko-Computer didn't just dismiss the allegations that the NDC received GH¢8 million from the NSB-he went a step further, suggesting criminal consequences for Adu-Boahene. "They should go and negotiate a plea bargain, otherwise, he [Adu-Boahene] could be looking at 25 years," Tanko-Computer said, suggesting the alleged actions could constitute a serious breach of national security and financial regulations.
The memo, allegedly authored by Adu-Boahene and addressed to the National Security Coordinator, claimed the NSB disbursed millions to opposition parties, including the NDC, ahead of the 2024 elections for election collation logistics and equipment.
