Caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Programme in the Ashanti Region have asked the government to reverse its decision to terminate their contracts, citing an earlier agreement that assured them their appointments would run through the end of the 2024/2025 academic year.

The caterers argued that failure to reverse the directive will affect them financially, as they secured loans to purchase food items for the term.

They called on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the National Chief Imam, and all relevant stakeholders to intervene and ensure the reversal of the directive.

In an official release dated May 2, 2025, the Ghana School Feeding Programme announced the immediate termination of contracts for all caterers under the initiative across the country.
