Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has opened up about a recent invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), revealing that she was questioned over the display of money at her daughter Priscilla Ojo's wedding ceremony to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.   The actress said the EFCC reached out to her with an official invitation while she was still in the United Kingdom.

Upon her return to Nigeria, she honored the invitation by visiting the EFCC headquarters on May 5, 2025."I recently had an experience with the EFCC in Nigeria after receiving an invitation letter while I was in the UK," she stated in an Instagram post. "Upon my return, I visited the EFCC where I was asked several questions relating to my personal bio data, career, work experience, and companies, amongst others." During the questioning, EFCC officials reportedly presented video evidence from the wedding, which showed guests spraying both Naira and foreign currency during the celebration. "They showed me videos of people spraying money at the wedding," she said. "They asked if I knew it was illegal.

I honestly thought only tearing or damaging the Naira was a crime." Iyabo explained that she believed the only offense was the abuse or mutilation of the Naira, but EFCC clarified that spraying money-whether local or foreign-is also considered an offence under Nigerian law.Read Also: Glamour by the Sea: Ameyaw TV Exclusively Covers the Star-Studded Wedding of Priscilla Ojo and Juma Jux View this post on Instagram A post shared by Queen Mother (@iyaboojofespris) "The EFCC officials made it clear that spraying any form of currency is against the law," she said.

Although she was released the same day after her lawyer intervened, the actress noted that there is a possibility she could be invited again for further clarification.
