Communications Minister Sam Nartey George has disclosed that the Inter-Agency Data Pricing Committee, given 14 days to produce a roadmap for the reduction of data cost in Ghana, has presented its report to the ministry.
He says instead of 14 days, the committee delivered in 13 days, and this report will serve as a roadmap for the reduction of data cost in Ghana.
According to Sam George, the ministry is currently engaging with all stakeholders to ensure that there are a fact-driven basis for the calls for data prices to reduce. "I agree that data should be and can be cheaper; that is why I set up that data pricing committee and gave them a 14-day mandate, but they delivered their report in 13 days.
Their report was a roadmap to achieving this.
