The Legal Adviser to the ary Minority, John Darko, has reignited debate over the controversial 2018 dismissal of former Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson Charlotte Osei, branding the Akufo-Addo administration's decision as unjust.
The former EC Chair and her two deputies, Amadu Sulley and Georgina Opoku Amankwaa, were removed from office by then-President in June 2018, following the recommendation of a committee led by then-Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo, which cited alleged procurement breaches under Article 146(1) of the Constitution.
However, in an interview with Channel One TV on Monday, May 5, 2025, the Suame MP did not mince words in criticising Charlotte Osei's removal. "My position on Charlotte Osei is that it was wrong.
