A Sunyani Circuit Court has sentenced Nana Agyeman Badu, an over-the-counter medicine seller and owner of Ansu Gyeabour Chemical, to 17 years imprisonment with hard labour for selling, offering for sale and exhibiting for sale expired medicinal products contrary to regulatory laws.
In a press statement dated May 5, 2025, the FDA announced that the court had upheld its action against Agyemang Badu.
According to the statement, the FDA, in collaboration with the Bono Regional Police Command, seized some expired medical products sometime in 2022 from Nana Agyeman Badu at Chiraa in the Bono Region.
Badu was then arrested and arraigned before the court.
