Former Ghana's Vice President and 2024 NPP presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has called for ceasefire and peace between Kusasis and in the Bawku conflict.
Speaking in Nalerigu, North East Region on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, during the NPP's thank you tour, Dr Bawumia was saddened over the deadly conflict between the two factions. "We are the same people with so many things in common and so many things bring us together.
Our language is almost the same and we have inter-married, so we are one people." "Let us give peace in Bawku a chance through the many things that bring us together."
