The Supreme Court has thrown out an objection by former Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame against Acting Chief, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie's involvement in the case challenging the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

In a unanimous ruling, a five-member panel of the apex court held that the objection lacked merit.

The panel stated that the position of Acting Chief Justice, established under Article 144(6) of the Constitution, does not confer any personal interest on the occupant in such proceedings. "The objection is unmeritorious and consequently overruled," the court held.
