The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has lamented a growing culture of self-glorification among its members.

According to the outspoken politician, it is time the party returns to the values of unity and collective purpose that have historically bound it together.

Speaking on Wontumi TV on Monday, May 5, 2025, a visibly concerned Chairman Wontumi said the current trend, where individuals openly promote their contributions to the party's success, is weakening the spirit of solidarity that has long defined the NPP. "Now the self-glory in the NPP is too much.

Everyone wants their supporters to blow their trumpet about what they've done or are doing for the party," the source stated. "I did this for the party, I did that for the party.
