A Deputy Chief of Staff, Stan Xoese Dogbe, has criticised the Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, has stated that the last eight years under President and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was marred by retaliatory politics.

Speaking at the Jubilee House on May 5, 2025, in a JoyNews report when the conveners of the 'SaveTheJudiciaryDemo' presented their petition, Dogbe argued that recent calls to end political retaliation are a tacit admission that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government did not provided effective and fair leadership. "If this had been the case over the past 8 years, I'm sure the retaliatory politics you mention wouldn't have occurred.

Your reference to retaliatory politics is an admission that the 8 years under Akufo-Addo and Bawumia were not the best," he indicated.

The 'SaveTheJudiciaryDemo' was organised by a coalition of civil society groups, legal practitioners, and concerned citizens calling for judicial reforms and an end to perceived political interference in the judiciary.
