A medical doctor and former (NPP) presidential aspirant, Dr Arthur Kobina Kennedy, has made a strong case for ex-NPP National Chairman, Paul Afoko over his indefinite suspension from the party; as well as for ex-NPP General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong; who was initially also suspended.

He demanded that the party must not only reinstate them, but also apologise to them over the unfortunate turn of events in 2015.

He made this appeal during an interview on TV3 on April 1, 2025, while contributing to the ongoing debate on the NPP's nationwide "Thank You Tour." In a subtle jab at the former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, he questioned why he remained silent on some of these key issues during his time in office.

He criticised Bawumia for the seeming shift of blame to his predecessor, former President Akufo-Addo and recommended that the party pulls the brakes on the ongoing tour to focus on reconciling all members who have defected for one reason or another.
