Member of Parliament (MP) for Akuapem North constituency in the Eastern Region, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, has subtly criticised actor and National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo.
The lawmaker, in solidarity with colleague , against whom the actor made wild allegations, wrote a cryptic message on social media amidst the controversy, though she failed to mention a name.
She said, "V8 na my back case ooo!
I don't get emotional when V8 is mentioned… I have no history with it!" It would be recalled that John Dumelo, while speaking on TV3's constituency manifesto, made some damning allegations about the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP).
This was after chants about him allegedly stealing a V8 triggered his anger on live television.
The actor-turned-politician could not control his rage and, as a result of the chants by supporters of the (NPP) at the event, descended into the gutters to allege that Lydia Alhassan killed her husband to become MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon. "Let me say something, I can see their supporters mentioning V8.
If that is the case, then it is fair to say maybe Lydia is the one that killed her husband to become MP. "If they want to go to that tangent, I will go to that tangent.
This time around it is boot-for-boot.
You cannot decide to be a bloody widow to become a Member of Parliament.
If you smile, I will smile back.
If you slap, I will slap you back.
If you aim at me, I aim at you back.
You cannot be a bloody MP…," he claimed.
Following backlash from social media, the NDC Parliamentary aspirant has since apologised unreservedly for the comments, but calls have intensified for him to be sued to substantiate the allegations.
