The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has assured the public that it is working expeditiously to ensure a seamless transition from the old biometric passport to the newly introduced chip-embedded passport system.

The transition officially took effect on April 28, 2025.

In a statement issued today, the ministry revealed that around 30,000 applications remain in the old system, with 7,900 of those being paid but incomplete.

Applicants with such incomplete submissions are assured that they will not be required to pay again in order to complete their applications.
