A student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), affiliated with Unity Hall (Conti), is receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after being stabbed multiple times during a violent altercation at a New Patriotic Party (NPP) "Thank You" tour event in Kumasi.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at the Pentecost Church in Bantama, where the event was held.
The victim was part of a Jama group from Unity Hall, which had been contracted by the camp of former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, to perform at the gathering.
Eyewitnesses say tensions escalated after a wealthy associate of Agyapong gave money to the Jama performers.
