The Mahama administration is taking bold steps to clean up the £39 million student loan debt abandoned by the previous government; a debt which many has described as a reckless legacy that has left countless Ghanaian students abroad stranded, humiliated, and uncertain about their future.

As part of President John Dramani Mahama's unwavering commitment to restoring hope and dignity to Ghanaian students studying abroad, the Registrar of the Secretariat, Alex Kwaku Asafo Adjei has visited Brunel University, London, in a bid to find practical solution to the student loan debts.

In a high-level discussions with Management of the University led by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Jonathan Wastling, it has been agreed between the parties to audit and validate every student record and financial claims to ensure absolute transparency and value for money.

More importantly, initiating a structured payment plan to prevent further disruption to the academic journey of Ghanaian students abroad.
