The Minority Caucus in Parliament has come out swinging against President John Dramani Mahama, fiercely condemning his suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Esaaba Torkonoo Sackey.
Addressing the press on behalf of the group, Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, described the President's action as unconstitutional and a dangerous attempt to undermine the independence of the judiciary. "The Minority, committed to justice, constitutionalism, and the sanctity of the judiciary, demands the immediate reversal of this unconstitutional act by President John Dramani Mahama. "We see it as a politically motivated witch hunt to control the judiciary.
This is not judicial reform.
It is a tyranny in plain sight," he declared.
