The running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr.

Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has questioned the credibility of former President and NDC Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama, regarding his recent promises to create jobs.

Dr.

Prempeh recalled that during Mahama's presidency, when confronted with the high unemployment rate, Mahama reportedly stated that he was not a magician to create jobs.

Speaking at a mini rally in Drobonso, the capital of the Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency, during his constituency-focused campaign tour on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, Dr.

Prempeh described Mahama's current job creation promises as a desperate attempt to gain support.

He argued that Mahama's past actions demonstrate a lack of credibility, and therefore, his new promises are deceptive.

Dr.

Prempeh, also known as NAPO, urged the Chiefs and people of Drobonso to maintain their trust in the NPP, particularly in the party's flagbearer, Dr.

Mahamudu Bawumia, and the parliamentary candidate, George Ackon.

During his visit, Dr.

Prempeh paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Drobonso at his palace.

The Chief commended the NPP government for projects such as the Agenda 111 hospital, electricity, and a district court, noting that these achievements were made despite the NPP never winning the parliamentary seat in the constituency.

After his visit to Drobonso, Dr.

Prempeh and his team proceeded to the Juaben Constituency, where they were warmly welcomed by the Paramount Chief of the Juaben Traditional Council, Dasebre Nana Siriboe II, who also serves as the chairman of the Council of State.

A durbar of Chiefs, religious leaders, and residents of Juaben was held at the palace to receive the vice-presidential candidate.

Dasebre Nana Siriboe II highlighted the NPP's contributions to Juaben, including the creation of the Juaben Municipal Assembly, the asphalting of major roads, the construction of a Model STEM JHS, and other educational infrastructure at Juaben SHS.

He also praised the party's parliamentary candidate, Francis Owusu Akyaw, for his efforts in implementing significant projects even before becoming an MP.

The Paramount Chief noted that the NPP need not campaign in Juaben, as the people have already embraced the party.

In response, Dr.

Prempeh expressed his gratitude to Nana Siriboe II, requesting his continued guidance to ensure his success.

He reiterated Dr.

Bawumia's commitment to collaborating closely with traditional leaders in the governance of the country.
