Former (NPP) Member of (MP) for Subin, , has confirmed that he will contest the General Secretary position of the party.
Speaking in an interview on UTV on Friday, April 25, 2025, Boakye Antwi stated that he would submit his nomination form when the party opens nominations for its national executive elections. "God willing, if the party opens nominations, I will run for the General Secretary position," he said in Twi.
The former Subin legislator asserted that he is the right man for the job because he plans to modernise the party. "I am interested in the NPP General Secretary position now because I won't just manage it, but I will modernize it for the future," he said.
He indicated that the NPP must put its house in order to stand a chance of winning the 2028 general elections.
