The management of the Kumasi South Regional Hospital is urging the government to fast-track the commissioning of the Sewua Hospital to help address the acute congestion and limited resources it is currently grappling with.
This call was made during a working visit by the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health to the Kumasi South and Komfo Anokye Teaching hospitals.
The visit forms part of Parliament's efforts to gain firsthand insight into healthcare delivery across the country by directly engaging health professionals and assessing service challenges on the ground.
In a presentation to the committee, Dr Kwame Ofori Boadu, Medical Director of Kumasi South Hospital, underscored the critical need to expand the hospital's infrastructure.
