As the public discourse intensifies over the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, legal minds are calling for a measured response, underscoring the importance of due process and constitutional order.

Speaking on Asaase Radio monitored by MyNewsGH, legal practitioner Alex Gyamfi echoed the sentiments of the Ghana Bar Association's Public Relations Officer, Saviour Kudze, emphasizing that all Ghanaians should take an interest in the matter, but with restraint. "Everybody must be interested in what is going on… If anyone believes due process has been compromised, they have the right to seek protection in court," Gyamfi asserted, pointing out that a fair process is one that allows the accused to be heard before judgment is passed. "It is a due process that must work.

If a person is condemned before he's heard, then nothing took place," he added.

Kudze, who also appeared on the Asaase Breakfast Show, also called for a respectful observance of the ongoing proceedings and warned against the premature judgments being passed by some legal professionals and political actors. "It will not be fair at this point to be judgmental because there's an ongoing process… I think that it would be fair to allow the process to flow through to the logical conclusion," Kudze noted.
