A major crackdown on drug use and sales has been conducted at Sabon Zongo, a community in Accra.
The 'No Drugs in Zongo Movement,' in collaboration with some concerned youth, led the operation, which resulted in the closure of 20 container shops suspected to be drug dens.
The 'No Drugs in Zongo Movement' aims to rid Zongo communities of drug abuse and trafficking Large quantities of illicit substances were seized, including weed, crack, codeine, tramadol, and other opioids, according to a Sika Official video posted on X.
It added that the movement, which was supported by local authorities and the National Chief Imam, set ablaze the ceased drugs in a show of commitment to tackling the issue.
