Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, Mustapha Gbande, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for taking bold steps in the agricultural sector just 100 days into his administration.

Speaking on Hot Issues on TV3 on Sunday, April 20, 2025, Gbande said the government's efforts were building a solid foundation to feed the country and transform agriculture into a key economic driver. "Today, a solid foundation is being laid to feed this country through poultry, through other Agric incentives. "President Mahama has spoken about mechanization so that promise he made to Ghanaians was re-echoed to Ghanaians during the launch of the programme to say we are going to create Agric service centers so budget have been read and allocations will be made, importations will be made and farmers in Ghana would have a foundation to boast of government's incentives to boost the Agric sector," Gbande said.

He reiterated that the government's Feed Ghana initiative is not just a promise but a structural commitment under the broader theme of agriculture for economic development, targeting job creation, food security, and economic stability. "…in this case, my government is rolling out the Feed Ghana program under the broader theme of agriculture for economic development.

This is a comprehensive attempt to modernize agriculture, create jobs, reduce food inflation, and strengthen food security," he added.
