The Ashanti Regional Director of the opposition (NPP), Paul Nyando, has vowed to report the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr.
Frank Amoakohene, for what he claims is a show of disrespect towards traditional authorities in the region.
The NPP spokesperson has accused the minister of usurping the role of the chiefs by organizing the Ashanti Festival, dubbed 'Ashantifest', without involving the traditional leaders, who he insists are the rightful custodians and organizers of such cultural celebrations.
Ashantifest is an initiative spearheaded by the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) to celebrate and promote the rich cultural heritage of Asanteman.
