The National Peace Council has renewed its call for calm in the conflict-stricken town of Bawku, urging all factions involved to lay down their arms and return to the negotiation table.
In an emotional appeal during an interview on Starr Today with Tutuwaa Danso, the Council expressed deep concern over the continued unrest and emphasized that peace remains a real possibility if all sides show restraint. "Let the smoke of the peace pipe rise, not the smoke of gunfire," the Council said, echoing its long-standing message that dialogue must prevail over violence.
The Council noted that while the peace process has been challenging, it is still very much in motion. "This has been a matter of concern for the Council for some time now.
This process is not a one-day affair, but an ongoing effort we are actively working on.
