The most recent attack of officers have raised concerns and questions on the rationale behind the unidentified gunmen targeting security personnel, another situation that threatens the security system of the country.

In the bid to curbing the rate of deaths among the officers, the has issued an urgent directive, banning the movement of police personnel and their families to Bawku and its surrounding areas in the Upper East Region.

A wireless message from the Inspector General of Police, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, conveyed through the Upper East Regional Police Headquarters, indicated that personnel and their relatives have become targets of unknown assailants at Bawku and its environs.
