Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has claimed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) underestimated his political strength in the 2024 elections, believing they could easily unseat him with a more visible candidate.

Speaking in an interview with GHOne TV, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP said the NDC's choice of entertainment entrepreneur Baba Sadiq as their parliamentary candidate was a strategic attempt to outshine him.

However, he insisted that his credibility and connection with constituents ultimately secured his victory. "The NDC thought I was a pushover, so they did their best to present a candidate who would show off a bit, but I've proven my credibility to my constituency," Patrick Boamah stated.

Background The Okaikwei Central parliamentary race was one of the most closely watched contests in the Greater Accra Region during the 2024 elections.
