President John Dramani Mahama has unveiled a bold plan to boost local poultry production and reduce Ghana's heavy reliance on imported chicken.

Speaking at the official launch of the Feed Ghana Programme in Techiman, Bono East Region, Mahama introduced the 'Nkoko Nketenkete' initiative, a key component to strengthen the country's poultry industry. "Ghana imports almost $400 million worth of chicken every year.

This, we all must be ashamed of," the President remarked, stressing the urgent need to invest in local production systems.

The Nkoko Nketenkete initiative, which translates to comprehensive poultry, will be rolled out in collaboration with the Poultry Farmers Association.
