The Ghana Police Service has launched a full-scale manhunt for armed robbers who fatally shot two plain-clothed police officers at Poyamirea, a community near Binduri in the Upper East Region.
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
According to a police statement, the officers were travelling on a private motorbike from Bongo to Binduri when they were ambushed by the assailants.
The robbers not only shot the officers but also made away with their motorbike. "The names of the officers have been withheld as efforts are underway to properly notify their families in line with custom and tradition," the statement added.
