The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has announced a reviewed curfew for Binduri Township and its surrounding areas in the Upper East Region.
The new curfew hours, which take immediate effect, will now run from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.
The decision, made on the advice of the Upper East Regional Security Council, is part of efforts to address escalating tensions in the area and promote peace and order.
In a press statement released on Sunday, April 13, 2025, the Minister urged the people of Binduri to stay calm and channel their efforts into peacebuilding. "Government urges Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them as well as to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area," the statement read.
